Project consists of geotechnical testing to evaluate for the installation of new septic restrooms at the Sequoia Group Campground at Big Basin Redwoods State Park to support proposed plans to rebuild the group campground. Within the chosen test location, work will use a rotary auger backhoe attachment and/or manual augers to perform preliminary soil evaluations as follows:
Excavate one (1) 14-ft deep hole for soil profiling;
Excavate four (4) 4-ft to 7-ft deep holes for limited percolation testing; and
Backfill test holes with excavated soils and compact.
