SUNY Upstate Medical University has awarded a two-year contract for a Sharps Management Service Program to Stericycle Inc., a single-source award recipient, without prior advertising in the New York State Contract Reporter, in accordance with legal exemptions. The exemption was granted by the Office of the State Comptroller under Section 144(2)(e) of the Economic Development Law, allowing the agency to bypass the usual procurement process due to the sole-source nature of the contract. The contract covers services across all New York State counties, with performance locations at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and related sites. The contract's value is estimated to range between $500,000 and $2,000,000. The notice was posted on June 5, 2024, with a response deadline of June 12, 2024. For inquiries, Amy Clifford, the Contract Administrator, can be contacted via email or phone.
