Shatterproof Window Film & Installation

The City of Milpitas is seeking a qualified contractor to deliver and install shatterproof window film and perform re-caulking services for small businesses under its Storefront Crime Prevention program. The project requires the contractor to conduct site assessments, remove existing caulk, and install high-performance window film with a minimum thickness of 8mm, offering 99% UV rejection and 70% visible light transmission, backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty and a one-year workmanship guarantee. All work must adhere strictly to manufacturer specifications, and the contractor must be a licensed reseller of the specified film. The City will provide up to $4,000 per qualifying small business to cover eligible ground-floor window treatments; any additional costs for windows above ground level or超出 the cap must be covered by the business. The contractor must hold an active California Contractor’s License D-52 and be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, ensuring compliance with state labor and safety standards. The work is limited to participating small businesses in Milpitas, with all services performed on-site at the designated locations. The contract is anticipated to span one to two years, during which the selected vendor will be responsible for the full scope of material procurement, installation, and quality assurance.
