Sheet-Fed Rotary Screen Press

I. OVERVIEW: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This Sources Sought notice (Notice) is for market research purposes in determining interest and capability of potential small businesses vendors, for this type of equipment only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any actual procurement of supplies or services. This Notice does not constitute a solicitation (e.g. Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations or Invitation for Bid) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This Notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Notice. All costs associated with responding to this Notice are solely at the responding party's expense. Responses to this Notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The BEP will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this Notice. Responses to this Notice will not be returned. Not responding to this Notice does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. II. PURPOSE: The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is interested in and is seeking small business sources who can provide Rotary Screen Presses to be used in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing facilities' in support of the currency manufacturing. In addition, the business should be able to provide all ancillary equipment necessary to produce a press-ready screen mesh for quality screen prints from positive imaged film including training on such equipment. BEP's Eastern Currency Facility (ECF) is located in Washington D.C. and the Western Currency Facility (WCF) is located in Fort Worth, T.X. Key requirements for this equipment is that it be a sheet fed Rotary Screen Press with two (2) cylindrical screen printing units, Infra-Red (IR) and Ultra Violet (UV) / thermal driers, an automatic feeder and delivery section capable of holding loads of 10,000 sheets (note offset and intaglio printed sheets are nominally 135 micrometers thick). The press shall be capable of feeding various sheet sizes from a nominal sheet dimension of 14.17-inch (360 mm) long x 18.11-inch (460 mm) wide up to 32.28-inch (820mm) x 27.56-inch (700mm) size sheets at a speed between 7,000-10,000 sheets per hour. Handle at least a maximum print image of 31.50-inch (800 mm) wide x 26.22-inch (666 mm) long. III. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Responses to the Notice shall include the following: a.
