The Government plans to issue four sole source purchase orders to Simplex Grinnell for software upgrades and frequency changes to the base-wide emergency reporting systems at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado. This procurement falls under FAR Part 12 regulations for commercial items and is justified as a sole source acquisition because Simplex Grinnell is the only approved local distributor qualified to provide the necessary software updates and frequency modifications for the existing Digitize systems. The 460th Contracting Squadron intends to proceed without full and open competition under FAR Subpart 6.302-1 (a)(2)(ii), as no other sources are known to meet the agency requirements. The contract notice does not solicit competitive proposals and specifies that only Simplex Grinnell at 6240 Smith Rd, Denver, CO, is capable of fulfilling the order. Inquiries regarding the procurement can be directed to SSgt Kyle D Smith, the Contracting Specialist, or Mr. Robert Woodruff, the Contracting Officer, via email or telephone. The procurement relates to NAICS code 334290 and is managed through the Department of Defense office at Buckley AFB, emphasizing the specialized nature of the technical services required for the emergency reporting infrastructure.
