Snow Removal and Sanding Services at Naki and St Albert Centre Exchange Bus Terminals

The City of St. Albert is seeking a qualified contractor under RFP-2026-0093 to provide professional 24/7 snow removal, hauling, and ice control services for the Naki Transit Centre in Edmonton and the St. Albert Centre Exchange. The scope of work covers approximately 52,062 square feet in total, with specific requirements for the St. Albert Transit Exchange including the clearing of sidewalks, platforms, and a parking lot of about 9,700 square feet. Service triggers are strictly defined, requiring mechanical clearing of parking lots and laneways following 5 cm of snow accumulation and the removal of trace amounts of snow from sidewalks and platforms. Parking lot servicing is typically scheduled between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM. The contract will be awarded to the top-ranked proponent based on a combination of pricing and non-price rated criteria, evaluated on a scale of 0 to 5. The successful contractor must comply with the Alberta Traffic Safety Act, Canada’s National Safety Code, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Alberta. Key contractual obligations include maintaining a comprehensive safety program, providing proof of insurance, and adhering to an environmental responsibilities package. The agreement features an 18-month warranty period following the acceptance of work and specifies a 30-day payment term for compliant invoices. All services are governed by the laws of the province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada.
