The U.S. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground is seeking to procure three advanced scientific laser systems along with four replacement components specifically designed for atomic spectroscopy in quantum technology applications. This acquisition falls under the Product Service Code 6640 for laboratory equipment and supplies, and the corresponding NAICS code 334516 for analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing. The procurement is being conducted as a sole source acquisition because the government has identified Toptica Photonics as the only supplier capable of fulfilling these highly specialized requirements. The solicitation is issued as a combined synopsis/solicitation in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6 for commercial items and represents the sole solicitation for these products, meaning no subsequent written solicitation will be distributed. The contract response deadline is set for June 16, 2026, and the place of performance is in Adelphi, Maryland. The contracting office is located within the Department of Defense, and points of contact have been designated to assist potential responders with inquiries related to the procurement. This focused procurement underscores the unique nature of the technology and the government's reliance on a specialized provider to meet its quantum technology research and development needs.
