The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division intends to award a firm fixed price job order to Airborne Systems, based in Llangeinor, Bridgend, UK, for the procurement of Mk-59 systems under the IWS2D program. This contract is a sole source follow-on procurement, justified by Airborne Systems being the exclusive producer of the Mk-59 systems and the owner of the system specifications. The urgency of the requirement and budget constraints prevent the Navy from soliciting offers from other vendors or developing the system internally. Consequently, no public solicitation will be posted, but responsible sources may submit capability statements or proposals directly to the designated point of contact. The acquisition will be conducted under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, which allows for non-competitive procurement when only one responsible source exists. Interested parties are encouraged to communicate with Ms. Taylor Guthrie at NSWC Crane for further details or submissions, referencing the solicitation number N00164-13-G-WM55-0003. This procurement falls under NAICS code 334511, and the place of performance is within the Department of Defense facility in Crane, Indiana.
