The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, intends to modify the existing firm-fixed-price contract awarded to AMAG Technology, Inc. This contract involves the procurement of AMAG Access Control and Intrusion Detection System components, and the modification will incorporate a Provisioned Item Order contract line item number to address anticipated hardware obsolescence. The total contract value will remain capped at $2,000,000 despite this modification. The action will be conducted on a sole-source basis under statutory authority due to AMAG's proprietary rights and the significant costs the government would incur to source these components from another supplier. This ensures continuity and compatibility within the existing security system infrastructure. This procurement opportunity is only available to contractors operating under the original contract number and is communicated for informational purposes. The solicitation was publicly posted on both the Federal Business Opportunities and Navy Electronic Commerce Online platforms, with NECO serving as an alternative access point. The contracting office is located at NSWC Crane, Indiana, and the designated point of contact for the contract modification is Ms. Miriam Hornbuckle. This sole-source contract falls under NAICS code 334519, which pertains to security system components. The unique contractor capability and patent protections surrounding the AMAG technology justify the non-competitive acquisition approach.

This solicitation is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/ While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by NSWC Crane. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER N00164-10-D-GQ23. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, intends to modify the existing firm-fixed-price, supply-type contract N00164-10-D-GQ23, awarded to AMAG Technology, Inc, Torrence, California on 06 JAN 2010 for the procurement of AMAG Access Control and Intrusion Detection System components to incorporate a Provisioned Item Order (PIO) contract line item number (CLIN) to satisfy requirements within scope of the contract. The PIO requirements are necessary to mitigate future obsolescence issues with current hardware. The total maximum dollar value of $2,000,000 will remain unchanged as a result of this modification. This contract action will be conducted on a sole-source basis in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The basis for restricting competition is the proprietary rights of AMAG and the duplicative costs to the Government to utilize another source to satisfy the Governments requirement. The point of contact for this action is Ms. Miriam Hornbuckle, telephone +1 (555) 000-0000, fax +1 (555) 000-0000, e-mail contact@example.gov (preferred method).
