SOURCES SOUGHT / REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)
Kitchen Remodel – Training Center
Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Alderson, West Virginia

 


I. PURPOSE


This Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for market research and planning purposes in accordance with the Revolutionar FAR Overhaul, FAR Part 10, Market Research. This notice does not constitute a solicitation, does not commit the Government to issue a solicitation, and does not commit the Government to award a contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with responding to this RFI, participating in a site visit, submitting layout suggestions, or providing any information.


The Federal Prison Camp Alderson is seeking information from qualified and interested construction contractors regarding the potential remodeling of the Training Center Kitchen Area.


II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION


The Government is seeking industry input on potential layouts, design concepts, and recommendations for remodeling the Training Center Kitchen. The envisioned scope includes, but is not limited to:


• Installation of a secure pass-through window (roll-up or slide-open type).
• Installation of a three-compartment sink.
• Installation of a gas flat-top grill and oven.
• Installation of new cabinets, new countertops, and storage solutions.
• General remodel of the kitchen area to support usage.


III. SITE VISIT


Interested vendors are invited to participate in a site visit to better understand the existing layout, structural conditions, and project needs.

IV. REQUESTED INFORMATION FROM VENDORS


Interested vendors are asked to submit suggested layouts, concept drawings, recommendations, and any preliminary considerations relevant to the remodel. These submissions are strictly for market research and planning; no award will result from this request.


Submissions may include:
• Draft layout concepts or sketches
• Recommendations on structural considerations
• Identification of potential constraints or needed clarifications
• Estimated project timeline ranges (optional)

No payments, incentives, or compensation of any kind will be provided for submissions or participation.


Information gathered may be used to refine the Government’s requirements and acquisition approach under FAR Parts 10 and 36.
