REQUIREMENT The objectives of the Transportation Upgrades Project at Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site are as follows: establish public bus access to the site; provide access for pedestrians and cyclists; and improve accessibility in the parking lot area. The awarded contractor will complete the following activities in accordance with the project drawings and specifications: demolition of an existing pedestrian path and concrete curbs; construction of new sidewalks, concrete curbs, and crosswalks within the parking lot; construction of a new crosswalk with flashing beacons on Ocean Boulevard; construction of a new paved pedestrian and cyclist path; installation of two culverts; re-paving and line painting select areas of the parking lot; and a minor renovation of the parking lot washroom building. The existing washroom building is approximately 500 sq ft with four stalls; the washroom renovation consists of removing existing finishes, fixtures, and partitions, and transforming the space into two accessible washroom units including minor mechanical and electrical scopes. The contractor will complete the scope of work in fall 2026. TWO STAGE SELECTION PROCESS This posting is the Stage Two of a two-stage solicitation process: the first stage was to evaluate the qualifications of all interested suppliers. The second stage (Stage Two) is to invite the qualified suppliers to provide further qualifications and a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings.
