This request is for ditch mowing services to mow grass and other vegetation within our city stormwater ditches. Ditches are located throughout the city and can be identified on the attached PDF maps and are listed as "ditch" or "concrete ditch" or "wet ditch" on the map legend. Mowing should include all grass and vegetation located within the ditch itself, from bank-to-bank, and also include the top of bank and any other obvious or identified stormwater easements or property. Please be advised that many of these ditches are wet year-round, have uneven terrain, and may require a significant amount of weedwacking or mowing with a walk-behind mower. Most ditches are not mowable or accessible by heavy equipment. Any ditches that are clearly being routinely maintained to a high-level by neighboring residents can be omitted. Each ditch must be mowed every 6 months on a schedule provided by the City. Site visit highly recommended but not required.
Quotes should indicate a "total cost" for all ditches mowed twice per year, as well as a cost "per LF" of ditch mowing services. If quoted amount is unrealistic for current budgeted funds, submissions may be considered as contacts for the formal bid process and future budgetary needs.
