The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy plans to award a sole source, firm fixed-price contract to Cision US Inc. for an annual subscription providing media support services. This subscription grants access to Cision’s online media database, enabling users to perform media searches relating to news stories, sources, reporters, and editors, as well as distribute public announcements and manage media campaigns. The contract period extends from the date of award through June 28, 2013, with subscription access provided for up to 12 users, split into four slots and three staffers. This contract is justified under the Competition in Contracting Act, allowing non-competitive acquisition when only one responsible source meets the agency’s needs.
