It is the intention of this request to select a supplier(s) who can provide a comprehensive package for Solid Wasteand Recycle Waste Management Services, with the additional option of organic waste collection services. The Province of Ontario is shifting to a circular economy — a system in which materials are never discarded, butreused or recycled into new products and reintegrated into the market. Managing our resources more effectively will benefit Ontarians, our environment and the economy. It willhelp the province fight climate change and achieve its goals of a zero waste future with zero greenhouse gases from the waste sector, as set out in the Strategy for a Waste-Free Ontario: Building the Circular Economy, released inFebruary 2017. CKLAG has added the organics waste to our Waste Management services as the Ministry will be mandating this in the near future.
