This synopsis is provided as required by the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 637(e)) and the Office of Federal Procurement Policy Act (41 U.S.C. 416). The Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Acquisition Directorate (AD), has requested quotes via GSA eBuy (ref. RFQ695925) for Google Search Appliances. The items are required to replace four (4) existing end-of-life Google Search Appliance servers in the Defense Technical Information Center's (DTIC) Data Center. Currently, DTIC has 13 Google Search Appliances throughout four (4) different environments. The new licenses and hardware under this requirement will ensure continuity of operations and interoperability within DTIC's current IT infrastructure. As such, this requirement is being competed on a specific make and model basis. The four (4) required Google Search Appliances are available via Federal Supply Schedules. However, the disconnected support needed for Google Search Appliances is only available via open market. Therefore, for administrative convenience WHS/AD is adding Google Search Appliance Disconnected Support - 2yr. as an open market Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) to its Federal Supply Schedule RFQ. Accordingly, this synopsis satisfies the regulations specified in FAR Subpart 8.402(f). Additional clauses apply to the open market CLIN as specified in the RFQ. The solicitation for this requirement is located under RFQ695925 via GSA eBuy (https://www.ebuy.gsa.gov). Vendors interested in this requirement are encouraged to respond in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in RFQ695925 available on GSA eBuy. The response due date/local time is Monday, 23 JUL 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. This acquisition is a total set-aside for small business concerns under NAICS Code 511210, Software Publishers. Only quotes submitted by small business concerns will be accepted by the Government. Any quote that is submitted by a contractor that is not a small business concern will not be considered for award.
