The Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics plans to issue a Request for Proposal for Support Services encompassing Warehouse and Supply Room operations, Mail Room and Administrative Support, Furniture Installation, and Moving Services. These services will include daily customer support for BLS employees, equipment transportation within the national office and disposal sites around Washington, DC, property inventory, running the warehouse and supply room, supporting conference events through furniture and equipment setup, mailroom duties, furniture assembly/disassembly, and general administrative tasks such as office maintenance and recordkeeping. The contract is anticipated to be a single award under an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) structure with a five-year performance period: one base year plus four one-year options. It will be a 100% set-aside for open-market 8a vendors, with the services performed at the BLS location at 2 Massachusetts Ave, N.E., Washington, DC. A site visit was held on April 30, 2013, to provide potential offerors a visual inspection of the areas involved and orient them with the scope of services, although vendors could not submit materials or receive answers to questions at this session. Questions must be submitted via email according to the solicitation guidelines and answers will be posted as amendments on the FedBizOpps website. The solicitation was expected to be released around April 25, 2013, and registered participants were limited in number due to space constraints. Points of contact for the solicitation include Tyrone Lewis as Contract Specialist and Lasondia Chaney as Contract Officer.
