The United States Coast Guard (USCG), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1: Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, intends to award a firm-fixed price twelve (12) month contract to Segovia, Inc. (dba InmarsatGov), 11600 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 200, Reston, VA 20191 for continuity of Ku-Band commercial satellite airtime, bandwidth and support services provided for USCG Large Cutters from the following classes: WMSL, WAGB, WMEC-270, WMEC-39. Segovia, Inc. is the only vendor able to provide the aforementioned services on a short-term basis. This sole source synopsis exception to full and open competition is authorized when award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of costs or unacceptable delays (see FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(A). The service code is D316, IT and Telecom - Telecommunications Network Management. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and a solicitation will not be issued. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. Any vendor that believes it can provide the stated services can provide supporting documents demonstrating their capability and past performance. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
