The Naval Sea Systems Command, specifically PMS 430, is seeking information from industry regarding off-the-shelf or near-future technologies focused on System/Personnel Performance Monitoring, Embedded Training, and Operational Assessment. The purpose is to explore innovative capabilities that can be integrated with Battle Force Tactical Training systems to enhance various operational training areas such as scenario generation, sensor and weapon system simulation, afloat staff and battle group training, joint and naval training, communications at sea, ship handling, lookout training, engineering damage control, and force protection. Although there is no immediate funding commitment, submitted concepts will be reviewed and potentially forwarded to operational fleets for defining future requirements. Submissions should include estimated Total Ownership Costs. Industry representatives are invited to attend an Industry Day event on July 10, 2002, at the Naval Sea Warfare Center, Combat Direction Systems Activity at Dam Neck Naval Facility in Virginia Beach, VA. This session will provide an overview of PMS 430’s current activities and allow for direct interaction with the program managers. Interested attendees must submit visit requests by July 5, 2002, to facilitate base access, and a nominal $5 conference fee will be collected. Additional information, including logistics and contact details, was provided to support industry participation and encourage collaboration toward advancing Navy training and assessment technologies.
