The Department of Defense, through the Assistant Deputy for Acquisition & System Management, Data Engineering and Software division, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather market insights for developing a centralized cloud-based application aimed at managing software updates for field equipment such as vehicles and radios. The current software management process is inefficient, relying on manual emails and disparate websites, which complicates tracking and approval procedures. The envisioned solution is a unified platform that streamlines the entire workflow by providing a single interface to monitor, approve, and distribute software updates, enabling military leaders to have precise visibility into system readiness for missions. This solicitation, titled "Tactical Software Management System Requirements," was posted on May 18, 2026, with a response deadline of June 1, 2026. It is categorized as a sources-sought notice issued by the W6QK Acc-apg Cont Ct Software Sector under the Department of Defense and does not specify any set-aside or NAICS codes. The contract's place of performance is not detailed, but the office is located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Assistant Deputy for Acquisition & System Management, Data Engineering and Software ADASM (DES) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research. The purpose of the RFI is to identify qualified sources capable of offering  ideas on how to build a single, centralized cloud application to manage software for equipment used in the field (like vehicles and radios). Currently, this process is slow and messy because it relies on manual emails and separate websites. The goal is to create a "one-stop shop" to track, approve, and send out software updates so leaders know exactly which systems are ready for a mission.analyzing threats from diverse sources using advanced AI. Please see attached RFI for additional details.
