TD2109604 South Mountain Road Grid Resiliency Project (Notification of Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-VEN-55898-R5)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has authorized Southern California Edison, represented by Victoria Parsons, to conduct limited vegetation trampling and ground disturbance to access and replace the anchor of Pole 4485131E near South Mountain Road, as part of the South Mountain Road Grid Resiliency Project. Activities will involve traversing approximately 55 feet of the Santa Clara River’s bed, left bank, and channel on foot using hand tools, resulting in temporary impacts to 0.011 acre of giant reed stands, active agriculture, and coast live oak woodland and forest. The work includes crushing and trampling of herbaceous and subshrub vegetation during access and operations, alongside ground disturbance necessary for the anchor replacement. All impacts are designated as temporary, with a mandatory requirement to restore all affected areas upon project completion, including regrading channel segments to their original contours, removing all construction waste, and rehabilitating the ecological and morphological integrity of the streambed and surrounding vegetation. The authorization is issued under Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code through EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-VEN-55898-R5, with environmental oversight provided by the agency’s South Coast region.
