As such, the USACE is not authorized to provide temporary flood protection for this area. On 5/18/26 CBJ staff introducedOrdinance 2025-01(b)(AG) suggesting to appropriate funds to be used to complete the required preliminary work to complete a Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) View Drive Buyout Program. On 7/24/2026 CBJ and Southeast Appraisal Services executed a contract to begin the residential property appraisals for the sixteen (16) View Drive properties — the first required step of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Emergency Watershed Program. Excluding any unforeseen challenges the appraiser anticipates being able to provide the completed reports within thirteen (13) weeks of beginning the work.
