AI Contract Overview
NASA is offering companies the opportunity to license a cutting-edge technology designed to significantly enhance quantum communication. The innovation is a new quantum entanglement source array that efficiently produces single pairs of entangled photons while suppressing the creation of multiple pairs, a common source of noise in quantum systems. This advancement drastically increases the successful transmission of quantum bits—by a factor of 10 to 100—opening avenues for more robust, secure, and reliable quantum networks. The technology’s potential extends to critical sectors such as secure communications, cybersecurity, finance, sensor networks, and quantum computing, giving licensees a strategic advantage in the rapidly evolving quantum technology landscape. License rights for this technology can be granted on either an exclusive or nonexclusive basis, possibly limited to specific fields of use, but NASA will not provide funding as part of these agreements, nor does the agency manufacture commercial products. Interested parties must submit license applications through NASA’s ATLAS system before July 17, 2026. Questions and requests for more information can be directed to NASA’s Technology Transfer Program via the provided email address. The initiative aims to stimulate commercial interest and development of NASA technology, with no expectation of further procurement contracts beyond the licensing phase. This opportunity is managed through NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Full Description
NASA’s Technology Transfer Program solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses.
THE TECHNOLOGY:
NASA’s new source array may help revolutionize quantum communication by addressing a fundamental challenge: the unwanted production of multiple entangled photon pairs that introduce noise and degrade transmission. This innovative quantum entanglement source array generates single pairs of entangled photons at a very high rate while inhibiting the production of multiple pairs. By eliminating excess photon pairs, the new source array significantly reduces noise in quantum systems, increasing the successful qubit transmission rate by a factor of 10 to 100. This breakthrough paves the way for more efficient and reliable quantum networks, supporting secure communication, sensor arrays, and quantum computer networks. As the quantum technology sector rapidly expands, the new source array offers a crucial advantage for companies looking to lead in quantum communications, with potential applications in cybersecurity, finance, and advanced computing. By addressing a key limitation in current photon sources, the source array positions itself as a cornerstone for the future of quantum information transmission. This NASA Technology is available for your company to license and develop into a commercial product. NASA does not manufacture products for commercial sale.
