Tennyson Park Streetlight Project

The Tennyson Park Streetlight Project (Project No. 06950) is a solicitation by the City of Hayward, California, for streetlighting improvements along Panjon Street and Huntwood Avenue. The scope of work includes horizontal directional boring, installation of conduit, pull boxes, and hand holes, as well as the furnishing and installation of streetlight poles and LED luminaires. Additional requirements involve pulling conductors and wire, installing service pedestals, electrical service connection, saw cutting, excavation, backfill, compaction, and the restoration of asphalt pavement, concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. All work must adhere to the 2018 Caltrans Standard Specifications and City of Hayward Standard Details, with a specific requirement for pull box lids to be labeled Streetlighting and not be of the bolt-down type. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who meets the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals. The project has a performance period of 50 working days, beginning within 10 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must provide bidder's security equal to 10 percent of the bid and, upon award, provide payment and performance bonds at 110 percent of the total bid, along with comprehensive liability and workers' compensation insurance of at least one million dollars. Payment is processed monthly based on the Engineer's estimates of work completed, with no partial payment for unincorporated materials.
