Terminal Infrastructure Renewal - Holdroom Enhancements

The Terminal Infrastructure Renewal - Holdroom Enhancements project, managed by the Ontario International Airport Authority, focuses on the revitalization and modernization of passenger holdroom facilities at all gates within Terminals 2 and 4. The scope of work is strictly confined to the existing interior footprint of the terminals, ensuring no change in land use or increase in airport capacity. Key project deliverables include the modernization of agent counters to optimize boarding and ticketing, the installation of new flooring and seating, and the replacement of ceiling lights with LED fixtures. Additionally, the project involves upgrading electrical infrastructure for in-seat power outlets and agent work areas, while ensuring all egress aisles and waiting areas are ADA-compliant. The project is categorized as exempt under CEQA Guidelines Sections 15301 and 15302, as it involves the rehabilitation and replacement of existing facilities without significant environmental impact. Construction is estimated to begin in the first quarter of 2027 and conclude in the first quarter of 2028. All work must adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, and the contractor is required to implement environmental and safety best management practices to minimize disruptions to airport operations.
