SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy, is soliciting quotes for a custom-designed biaxial thermomechanical stage compatible with SAXS/WAXS beamlines. The stage must meet specific technical requirements including a temperature range from room temperature to 250°C, a 200 x 200 mm thermal sample area, motorized movement up to 200 mm, gas purge capability, and integrated 2-axis tensile tension control with force sensors. The design calls for optical access, Kapton windows, convection heating, and vertical stage mounting. Additionally, the vendor must provide EPICS software integration for tensile and temperature control that is compatible with SLAC’s instrumentation and must demonstrate prior experience or a credible plan for this integration. Factory acceptance testing is required to verify all performance parameters and compliance before shipment. The project schedule mandates delivery within five months of order receipt, with detailed milestones included. Vendors are requested to provide fixed price quotes for the specified product, including the EPICS integration, with no onsite services. Source selection will be based on a combination of lowest price and best lead time, with a quote deadline of May 19, 2026. The contract will include SLAC’s August 2023 commercial terms and conditions, with payment terms of NET-15, and freight terms specified differently for domestic and foreign suppliers. Compliance with the Buy American Act for orders exceeding $15,000 is required. Vendors must also complete SLAC’s Representations and Certifications, register in the System for Award Management, and provide Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes if applicable. Proposals must identify proprietary information and may request consideration for additional discounts for academic or government institutions.
