This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Town of Edson (the “Town”) to submit non-binding Design Build proposals for the provision of HVAC services including: • Replace three (3) RTU’s on the Public Works building, along with four (4) MUA’s with the eight (8) wall mounted exhaust fans that work in conjunction with the MUA's • The Public Works building was constructed around 1977 with minimal upgrades having been completed since it was first constructed with an addition that was built on the north side around 1979. This building is approximately 27,800 sq ft or 2,853 sq m. There are currently 3 natural gas fired RTU’s servicing the office area (for heating, cooling and ventilation air), that have reached the expected useful lifespan and display significant damage from weather, 4 natural gas fired make up units (in which 2 have been decommissioned), and 8 wall mounted exhaust fans that work in conjunction with the make-up air units that have also reached the end of their expected lifespan. The Proponent shall be fully responsible for: • All engineering required to complete the Deliverables • Preparation of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation stamped and sealed by a Professional Engineer licensed in the Province of Alberta • Obtaining all required permits, approvals, and inspections from applicable authorities having jurisdiction • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable codes, standards, bylaws, and regulations • Coordination with Town staff, utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, and other stakeholders • Testing, commissioning, and verification that the Deliverables are fully operational and meet performance requirements All equipment installed shall comply with the structural roof loading requirements as determined by the building’s structural design. Under no circumstances shall installed units exceed the allowable roof load capacity. The Contractor shall verify and ensure compliance prior to installation.
The Supplier shall provide the Town with proof of the following prior to beginning work on this Project: • A Business License that allows the Supplier to perform work in Edson. • WCB Alberta Clearance Letter addressed to the Town of Edson indicating that the account is active and in good standing. • Commercial General Liability Insurance coverage in the amount of $5,000,000 per occurrence as per the requirements detailed in Appendix A – Form of Agreement. • Automobile Liability Insurance coverage in the amount of $2,000,000 per occurrence as per the requirements detailed in Appendix A – Form of Agreement. • Professional Errors and Omissions Insurance coverage in the amount of $2,000,000 as per the requirements detailed in Appendix A – Form of Agreement.
