Full Description

In 2024, the City of Rancho Cordova was awarded funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program to develop a Traffic Safety Action Plan (TSAP). The City adopted its first Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) in January 2022. The LRSP provides a strong data-driven foundation, including emphasis areas and priority locations. This preceded the establishment of the Safe System Approach and does not fully address the policy, process, leadership, equity, engagement, implementation, and transparency elements required of an SS4A Action Plan. The funded effort includes three related components: Development of a comprehensive Traffic Safety Action Plan that builds from the LRSP and fully incorporates the Safe System Approach Evaluation and update of the City's Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) A demonstration activity to identify, test, and evaluate traffic safety data software and related data/analytical solutions that respond to needs identified through the planning process
