Executed on August 3, 2011, this contract authorizes the procurement of a Trusted Systems Secure Communication Center for the Eastern Air Defense Sector. The acquisition, valued at 81,176 dollars, was awarded to Trusted Systems under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 10 USC 2304(c)(2), which permits other than full and open competition when only one source can satisfy government requirements. The justification for this sole-source award is based on the fact that Trusted Systems is the only company capable of producing this uniquely configured application. The decision was further supported by a Sources Sought notice posted on FBO that yielded no responses. The procurement was managed by the Department of Defense through the NYANG 174 agency in Syracuse, New York, with the contracting officer certifying that the pricing is fair and reasonable.
