U--Notice of Intent to Sole Source

This is not a request for quote - this is a notice of the Government's intent to issue a sole source award to Hood College under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science (GEMS), a subordinate element of the United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), is a program that strives to excite and educate students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to meet the long term national defense needs of the Nation. The program is based on a multidisciplinary educational curriculum and is focused on age and grade-appropriate hands-on activities in areas such as science, engineering, robotics, mathematics, computational sciences, microbiology, biomedical sciences, chemistry, and biology. Historically, the Department of the Army; the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), have partnered with Hood College and Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) in the performance of the GEMS program. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice by email to contact@example.gov. The Government reserves the right to cancel the Sole Source Award.
