Statement of Work
ObjectiveThe contractor shall provide Sandia with a new, fully functional universal mixing and kneading machine (UMIX-L 2.5L Laboratory Scale Mixer) designed to meet the following specifications: Mixing chamber useful volume of 2.5L with a total volume of 3.5L featuring dual tangential counter-rotating sigma blades (temperature controlled) with independent rotor drives as well as a screw discharge for product to be removed from the mixing trough with vacuum capability. Fast mixing blade speeds of 10-100 rpm Slow mixing blade speed of 7.4 to 74 rpm Mixing chamber designed with discharge screw to dispense mixed product at 10-100 rpm Control cabinet with a frequency converter for the rotor drive, low voltage power supply and main power switch Operator panel with a 19� wide touch screen display, hardware safety CPU and hardware pushbuttons for safety and maintenance functionsComputer controls the mixing, blade rotation speed, times and direction of the rotors and allows for recipe programming.
TasksThe contractor shall fabricate a mixer capable of meeting or exceeding the requirements listed above.
