Underground Water Infiltration Repairs at CT State Community College Asnuntuck

The project involves comprehensive repairs to address underground water infiltration at CT State Community College Asnuntuck. Key tasks include installing a trench drain system beneath the auditorium's concrete floor, utilizing perforated PVC pipe, filter fabric, and washed stone to facilitate water drainage. The existing concrete floor will be removed, replaced, and finished with reinforcement and dowels to restore structural integrity. Additionally, the project entails removing and replacing the existing carpet in the affected area, with color approval from the owner. A sump pit and sump pump system will be installed, complete with electrical components and controls, and connected to the building’s stormwater system via PVC plumbing that includes shutoff and check valves. The sump pump controls will be integrated with the school’s Building Management System (BMS) for seamless operation. Furthermore, exploratory test pits will be conducted to locate a section of crushed stormwater pipe identified during prior camera inspections.
