The University of Alberta has issued an Advanced Contract Award Notice for the procurement of a Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The contract is awarded to Infinitt North America to ensure the Faculty of Dentistry upgrades its current system to meet the security protocols mandated by the Alberta Health Information Act. Infinitt North America was selected as the sole provider because it is the only vendor capable of offering the necessary functionality for 3D manipulation of IntraOral Scans and CBCT images. Other available options, such as MiPACS, only provide view-only functionality, which does not meet the specific clinical requirements of the institution. This technical necessity has resulted in an absence of competition for the procurement.

Full Description

Advance Contract Ward Notice to contract with Infinitt North America to acquire a PACS for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Dentistry is required to upgrade it's current system to comply with the security protocols of the Alberta Health Information Act. INFINITT is the only vendor that offers the required functionality to perform 3D manipulation of IntraOral Scans and 3D images (CBCTs). View-only functionality, offered by MiPACS, is not sufficient for our clinical needs. This demonstrates an absence of competition for technical reasons.

University of Alberta - Request for Proposal - RFP 2026-0108 Multi-Year Endowment Optimization Review
Solicitation # AB-2026-05381
The University of Alberta is seeking an external contractor with specialized expertise in trust law and endowment management to conduct a comprehensive review of underutilized endowments within its portfolio. These endowments, managed primarily by the Office of the Vice-President (External Relations) and allocated across academic Faculties and University-wide service units, have accumulated multi-year unspent funds due to restrictive donor terms, changes in academic priorities, or evolving institutional needs. The contractor will be tasked with a risk-aware analysis to identify opportunities for optimizing these endowments while ensuring full compliance with legal and fiduciary obligations, respecting donor intent, and aligning with the University’s strategic goals. The review will require deep understanding of charitable trust structures, investment limitations, and the regulatory frameworks governing endowment distributions. The solicitation, identified as RFP 2026-0108 with reference number AB-2026-05381, was posted on July 29, 2026, and responses are due by August 26, 2026. All work will be performed in Alberta, Canada, and interested vendors must submit proposals through the University’s procurement platform. Jennifer O’Brien, Procurement Specialist, is the point of contact for inquiries and can be reached via email or phone. The contractor will be expected to deliver actionable recommendations that balance financial sustainability, legal integrity, and academic relevance, enabling the University to responsibly reallocate underused endowment resources to meet current and future institutional priorities without compromising donor agreements or legal responsibilities.
