AI Contract Overview
The Federal Aviation Administration is conducting a market survey under solicitation number 6973GH-26-M-USCG to gather industry input for the formation of an acquisition strategy seeking certified professional engineering services in support of the United States Coast Guard. This effort, classified under NAICS code 541330 and issued by the Department of Transportation, seeks vendors capable of providing a licensed Professional Engineer to review and formally approve or reject tower inspection and maintenance reports generated by FAA technical personnel. The core requirement involves affixing a PE stamp to certify concurrence or provide justified rejection of government conclusions, ensuring compliance with Industry Standard TIA-222-I, crew safety, and property protection. The scope encompasses the evaluation of reports from 79 tower sites across the Continental United States and U.S. territories, with potential engineering redesign and remediation work for up to 20 sites involving structural repairs such as replacing guy wires, anchors, and corroded foundation studs. Responses must detail the respondent’s ability to perform PE certification, their programmatic approach including teaming or subcontracting strategies, and a capability statement with verifiable past performance data, including contract dollar values and years in business. All submissions must be received by 4:00 p.m. Central Time on July 16, 2026, via email to jason.m.perry@faa.gov with the specified subject line, and must be marked proprietary as needed. The government has not yet determined the nature of the competition and is using this survey to assess industry capacity, establish rough cost estimates, and evaluate if sufficient qualified sources exist to support a future 12-month contract. No phone inquiries are permitted, correspondence must be in writing, and travel by contractors must be preauthorized and follow GSA per diem rates.
