REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)
USCGC HEALY Replacement Hangar Doors
- DESCRIPTION
This notice is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This RFI is issued by the United States
Coast Guard (USCG) for information and planning purposes, pursuant to Federal Acquisition
Regulation (FAR) Part 10, Market Research. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP)
or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. All participants are advised that the Government will
not pay for any information or administrative costs that result from responding to this RFI; all
costs associated with responding to this RFI will be at the interested party’s expense. Not
responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued.
2.0 PURPOSE
The purpose of this RFI is to increase the USCG’s understanding of companies that can manufacture a pair of replacement hangar doors along with their associated tracks and operator for the USCGC HEALY. The hangar door system shall have the following characteristics:
- Completely fill the existing 17’-0” (x) x 18’-0” (H) hangar opening.
- Accommodate the transit of an H-60 helicopter (folding rotor and tail variant) with no obstructions or interferences
- Meet the requirements of a Type 1 Class 1 door in MIL-DTL-24151 with the following exceptions:
- 3.4.2.5, 3.4.2.6, 3.4.2.11
- Operate in Arctic conditions
- Comply with NAVAIR Certification.
