The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking suppliers of black bean burgers to help support the demand for wholesome, high-quality products for use in USDA Foods nutrition assistance programs. The Commodity Procurement Program's (CPP) recent review of its purchasing activities has shown additional suppliers are needed to fully support the demand for products in the department's nutrition assistance programs. Black bean burger producers not currently participating as vendors for USDA's nutrition assistance programs are invited to contact CPP new vendor specialists at newvendor@usda.gov for information on how to become an approved vendor. Producers can also visit the Become a USDA Foods Vendor webpage to start the process or find more information by visiting Selling Food to USDA on the AMS website. AMS regularly purchases a variety of 100% domestically produced and processed commodity food products. These purchases support American agriculture by encouraging consumption of domestically produced foods. The wholesome, high-quality products purchased by USDA, collectively called USDA Foods, are delivered to schools, food banks and households in communities across the country, and are a vital component of our nation's food safety net.

Supplement for Egg Products
Solicitation # 12-3J14-Notice-26-024
The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has issued a special notice and supplement for the procurement of egg products, including whole eggs, hard-boiled eggs, all-purpose egg mix, and frozen scrambled egg patties. This procurement is governed by the Federal Purchase Program Specification (FPPS) and the AMS Master Invitation for Bids Domestic Programs (MIFB-D). A critical update to this program is the mandatory transition to AMS Quality Assessment Division (QAD) audit-based acceptance services (Option B) effective January 2027, replacing previous grading-based monitoring. All costs associated with AMS representative services, including audits and supervision, are the responsibility of the contractor. To become eligible for bidding, contractors must submit a technical proposal in a non-PDF format, such as Microsoft Word, following the specific templates provided in Exhibits A through D. This proposal must document a comprehensive quality control program covering processing, packaging, and labeling. Additionally, contractors must provide a five-pound product sample—except for bulk liquid whole eggs—which must include detailed labeling of ingredients, nutrition facts, and allergen declarations. Eligibility is determined through a technical review by the Standards and Specification Division (SSD), approval of product samples, and a pre-bid onsite capability assessment audit by the QAD, which evaluates food defense plans, production compliance, and quality records.
