On March 27, 2008, Emergency Support Function-7 (ESF-7) Co-Agency leaders, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Logistics Management Directorate and the General Services Administration (GSA) will host an information forum that will include participants from federal, state and local governments and the private sector. The mission of ESF-7 is to synchronize and fully integrate logistics management and resource support capabilities into an effective national supply chain management system by leveraging the strengths, capabilities, and resources of its partners. The purpose of the forum is to begin dialogue to seek ideas and ways that FEMA and GSA can work more effectively with its partners including the private sector. Since the primary goal following any significant disaster is to restore the visability of the impacted area as quickly as possible, FEMA and GSA would like to better engage the private sector as a part of the solution for planning for and recovering from disasters. FEMA and GSA would like to better engage the private sector as a part of the solution for planning for and recovering from disasters. FEMA and GSA senior leadership will brief vendors on the ESF-7 partnership, New FEMA Vision - National Response Framework (NRF), FEMA Logistic Management Directorate overview, lessons learned from recent events, and the vision for development and enhancement going forward. This new approach to implement solutions and strategies for creating an integrated supply chain management system for strategic logistics will only be successful with meaningful collaboration with the private sector. Companies are encouraged to attend this forum to share industry best practices, lessons learned, as well as information on their best processes that may be valuable in helping FEMA and GSA implement this strategy. The focus of the forum will be a dialogue to identify gaps, duplications, omissions, and challenges that adversely impact emergency response operations. Companies interested in contracting opportunities with FEMA and GSA can access the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov Registration: Attendees are encouraged to RSVP no later than Tuesday, March 25th by sending an email to Natasha Rountree, Office of Acquisition Management, at contact@example.gov with the following information: Name, Company/Organization, Type of Business/Organization, Mailing Address, Email/Phone number.
