Van Nes- Dill Drain

The Municipality of West Perth is soliciting bids for the construction of the Van Nes-Dill Drain, a project involving the installation of approximately 935 linear metres of closed drain connecting to the McMillian Drain. The scope of work includes the installation of various concrete and HDPE pipes, the construction of an open ditch, the placement of multiple catchbasins, and the boring of a smooth wall steel pipe under Line 21. The project also requires stripping and releveling topsoil for approximately 905 metres and the location of existing utilities. The engineer's estimate for the project is 106,200.00 dollars, and there are currently no timeline restrictions regarding the start or completion dates. The contract will be awarded to the bidder with the lowest total bid price. Bidders must submit their proposals electronically via the Bids and Tenders system by September 23, 2026. Requirements for the successful contractor include providing a performance and maintenance bond for 100 percent of the contract price and a labour and material payment bond for 50 percent. Additionally, a WSIB clearance certificate is required as a condition precedent to the contract. Payments are subject to a 10 percent statutory holdback, which increases to 13 percent if the contract is not bonded. The project is governed by the OPSS.MUNI 100 General Conditions of Contract and requires compliance with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act.
