Full Description

To better align with international standards and best practices, the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) has begun phasing out Raster Navigational Charts (RNCs) to offer safer Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) products and services. The CHS aims to vectorize the remainder of it’s digital chart portfolio by creating new or expanded ENCs from existing RNC (BSB) files. To achieve this goal, the CHS is seeking support from a qualified vendor to assist the vectorization and validation of supplied BSB files. ENCs that the CHS creates from this vectorized data must pass validation checks with no critical errors resulting from the checks. As such, the vectorized data must have passed validation checks and be compliant with applicable international nautical chart creation and validation standards upon delivery. Vendors must demonstrate that they are able to do this using their own software in order to qualify for this work.
