VEN126 Hopper Creek Bridge Postmile 26.48 (BR-520036) Debris Removal (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-VEN-58510-R5)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMSVEN-58510-R5, authorizing the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to perform debris removal at the Hopper Creek Bridge, Postmile 26.48 (BR-520036), located in Piru, Ventura County. The project involves the removal of vegetation and sediment from the Hopper Creek channel near the intersection of State Route 126, specifically covering a section from 200 feet upstream to 300 feet downstream of the bridge. Caltrans will access the channel via two previously disturbed areas on the south side of the bridge to remove an estimated 17,333 cubic yards of material, which is intended to reduce the stream bed elevation by up to 11 feet. A critical performance constraint requires that all work be conducted only when the channel is completely dry. The project is categorized as exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to California Code of Regulations title 14, section 15301, Class 1, as it involves minor alterations to existing facilities.
