Village West Storm Drain Project (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-RIV-54068-R6

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-RIV-54068-R6 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code. This regulatory action, represented by Gerardo Aguirre for the Riverside County Flood Control District and Water Conservation District, authorizes the maintenance of an existing publicly owned flood control facility. The project is located in the City of Riverside, California, specifically north of the intersection of Van Buren Boulevard and Village West Drive. As a minor maintenance project without expansion of use, it qualifies for a Class 1 categorical exemption under the California Code of Regulations. The scope of work involves the recurring trimming and clearing of riparian vegetation, specifically black willow and mulefat, along a 15-foot-wide concrete access road leading to the Village West Storm Drain outlet. Maintenance activities include the removal of trash, mud, and debris from the access road using a rubber tracked skid steer, while vegetation clearing will be performed with non-motorized hand tools and mechanical cutters. All removed materials and debris will be transported via dump truck for off-site disposal.
