Full Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source contract to Motion Reality, 200 North Cobb Parkway, Suite 140, Marietta, Georgia under Request for Quote (RFQ) RFQ-0208126066 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source Available. This notice will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website, www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Motion Reality is to provide spare parts for a Motion Reality brand virtual reality system that has already been implemented for training of new Agents. This system is proprietary to Motion Reality; and, therefore, only Motion Reality can provide the necessary items that integrate into the FBI acquired system. The FBI requires a quantity of four handgun replicas, four handgun magazines, six M-4 replicas, six M-4 chargers, four Man-Wearable computers with HMD, four training gear kits and four backpack batteries. Market Research has determined that the Federal Bureau of Investigation's requirement can only be provided by Motion Reality because they are the only capable manufacturer due to the proprietary nature of the system. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 10:00 AM, EST, Wednesday, August 15, 2012, via e-mail to Debora.Manley@ic.fbi.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
