Full Description

The Washington County Fire/EMS Task Force is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide consulting and needs assessment services for Washington County Fire/EMS Services. Washington County, through the County Executive’s Office, has formed a Fire/EMS Task Force made up of Chief Elected Officials and members of the Washington County Fire Chiefs, Fire Training and EMS Training associations and citizens to address the needs of the communities these members serve. The goal of the task force is to ensure Fire/EMS services are provided consistently with timely emergency response to all areas within the County at a time when interest in people looking to do this as a career, a volunteer, or serving in part-time roles is declining and funding is difficult to obtain. The task force has been approved to solicit proposals from qualified consulting firms in this field to conduct a needs assessment and study on how best to maximize the resources available today, avoid duplication of efforts, identify and develop funding models for long-term sustainability and to enhance recruitment/retention in the various roles to keep staffing levels up to meet the needs of the community.
The task force would like to have the needs assessment and study completed by March 31, 2025, and begin implementation of the recommendations beginning in the second quarter of 2025. The intent is to award this request to one firm and award is subject to task force and final budget approval.
