WATER METER INSTALLATIONS AT THE WILLIMANTIC CAMP MEETING ASSOCIATION WINDHAM

The Town of Windham Water Works is soliciting bids for the modification of existing plumbing at six residences within the Willimantic Camp Meeting Association community to facilitate the installation of 5/8-inch water meters. While Windham Water Works will provide the meters and couplings and handle water shut-offs, the selected contractor is responsible for all other labor and materials, including the installation of ball valves using sweat connections or copper press fittings. The contractor must coordinate scheduling with the community and tenants, preferably performing work between 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. All work must be performed by a licensed Connecticut plumber in accordance with applicable codes and the Windham Water Works Policies and Procedures manual. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on a time and materials basis, with bids consisting of an hourly rate and a materials markup rate. A ten percent local bidder preference is available for businesses based in the Town of Windham. Bidders must submit sealed bids by October 2, 2026, including proof of insurance, bidder qualifications, and a signed addendum confirming their licensure. Required insurance coverages include Commercial General Liability, Auto Liability, and Professional Liability, with the Town of Windham and Windham Water Works named as additional insureds. The awarded contractor must provide a preliminary project schedule within ten days of notification.
