Water Treatment Plant Caustic Soda Storage and Feed System Project

The Water Treatment Plant Caustic Soda Storage and Feed System Project, identified as Contract No. 173-21 23-037 and Project No. WA 2401, is an infrastructure upgrade for the City of Folsom in California. The project focuses on upgrading existing water treatment processes at the city's water treatment plant without significantly altering the existing footprint. The scope of work includes the removal of decommissioned steel tanks, associated piping, lime feed piping, and an abandoned aqua ammonia tank. It further involves modifying the existing tank containment wall and installing a new caustic feed tank, a new caustic containment area, caustic feed pumps, and a caustic feed pipeline. The project also encompasses miscellaneous civil sitework, including the replacement of concrete and AC pavement, along with the installation of associated electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Technical requirements specify that concrete walls must be X-rayed prior to core drilling for conduit installation, and all penetrations must be sealed with non-shrink, water-tight grout. Additionally, magnetic flowmeters must be bonded to the building ground grid or a new ground rod. The project is supported by a comprehensive design package from June 2025, featuring 43 engineering drawings covering structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans.
