Full Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, Springfield, Missouri, intends to award on a sole source base under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 with Kinetic Concepts Inc., 8023 Vantage Drive, San Antonio, TX 78230 for Info V.A.C Therapy Unit Wound Care Machines. This device will be used in all types of wounds where the use of negative pressure wound therapy is indicated. The machine must have the capability of logging the amount of time the unit has been in use, to serve as a means of monitoring patient compliance. The unit must have a locking device mechanism within the pressure control panel for security and compliance issues. The unit must have access to measure the size and volume of the wound. Vendor must offer a service agreement with a 24 hour response time for any repairs, replacement or trouble shooting. Estimated quantities and products: (1) 2 each M82559999.S InfoV.A.C Therapy Unit or equal (2) Service Agreement. The procurement will be for a firm-fixed priced purchase order. Any company who believes they can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by April 24, 2009, 2:00 p.m. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Kinetic Concepts Inc.
