Full Description

A formal request for proposal will be issued on or about 13 August 2014 as an attachment to this announcement. This proposed work is located at Powerhouse One at the Bonneville Lock and Dam Project. A Fall Restraint System (i.e. horizontal lifeline) shall be provided on the bridge crane corbels within the Powerhouse that will allow workers full access along the crane corbel. In addition the system shall be designed to provide the crane operator safe egress in the event that the crane becomes inoperable at any point along the Powerhouse. Each system shall conform to ASSE/SAFE Z359-PKG, EM 385-1-1, and all applicable OSHA standards such as 29 CFR 1926.502. This work includes the supply of lanyards and associated equipment necessary to safely navigate the areas adjacent to the powerhouse bridge crane to include signage. A registered professional engineer is required to prepare plans, specifications, and calculations for government review and approval. The contractor will also be required to provide training to the government crews who will use the fall restraint system once it is installed.
