The contract pertains to the flagpole enhancement project at Fort Frederica National Monument, located at 6515 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA 31522, under the purview of the Department of the Interior’s National Park Service via the Southeast Region, Miami Area Branch Office. The work includes comprehensive rehabilitation efforts such as surface preparation and coating of flagpoles, installation of electrical conduit and lighting systems, application of faux tabby concrete, construction of a brick pedestal, installation of benches, and repair of the flagpole collar. The project must be completed within 270 calendar days after issuance of the notice to proceed, with a firm start date of June 1, 2026, and a completion deadline of May 31, 2027. The contract is a sealed bid procurement resulting in a firm-fixed-price arrangement, requiring strict adherence to ASTM, MPI, UL, OSHA, and EPA standards for materials, workmanship, and hazardous substance handling, particularly regarding lead-based paint abatement.
