This firm fixed price contract involves modifications to State Road No. 90, also known as the Tamiami Trail, in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The project spans from mile post 13.692 to 24.650, specifically between the L-31 North Bridge and the S-333 structure. Key deliverables include the construction of a bridge on the eastern side of the project that transitions from the existing road alignment to the south, featuring two 12-foot travel lanes and 10-foot shoulders. This portion of the work requires fill for embankments, the extension of two culvert sets, and the subsequent degradation of the existing road and modification of culverts. In addition to the bridge work, the project requires the reinforcement of approximately 9.7 miles of road within the existing right of way. These improvements consist of milling and resurfacing, milling and overbuild, and the reconstruction of the road bed. Due to limited construction right of way and restricted staging areas at S-333 and S-334, the contractor must coordinate the layout of these areas with the Contracting Officer. The project is managed by the Department of Defense through the W074 Endist Jacksonville office.

Notice of Intent to solicit a single source – Fish and Macroinvertebrate (Nekton) Monitoring (St. Johns River)
Solicitation # W912EP-27-Q-1CTH
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, intends to award a sole-source contract to the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The project focuses on nekton monitoring within selected zones and tributaries of the Lower St. Johns River in Northeast Florida. This effort is categorized under NAICS code 541620 for Environmental Consulting Services and is designed to assess the ecological impacts of a 2022 channel deepening project that increased the river depth to 47 feet to accommodate larger vessels for the Jacksonville Port Authority. The primary objective is to evaluate how changes in salinity and water quality resulting from the deepening affect the spawning, recruitment, and population dynamics of commercially and recreationally important species, such as blue crab, white shrimp, and red drum. Monitoring will specifically target critical habitats between river kilometers 14 and 48, as well as areas upstream of Julington Creek, to determine if shifting salinity gradients are impacting nursery habitats or resident freshwater species. This long-term sampling will provide the necessary data to gauge the overall environmental effects of the channel modifications on the estuary's nekton assemblages.
