1) Desired Completion Date: FY23 3) Fund Source: FLCY 4) Supported Customer: FLCY 5) When funds will be available (If Customer Fund): FY23 6) Work Priority: PRI 2 1. Scope of Work: a. Requesting to extend existing fire suppression system to the installed racks in Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka HAZMAT Minimization Center Bldg. 4808. 2. Justification / Reason: The NAVSUP IG inspection conducted in January 2020 has identified FLCY HAZMAT Center, BLDG 4808 as lacking compliant storage space available to safely accommodate and stow hazardous materials for ashore and afloat tenant commands in Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY). 1) In order to maximize storage space capability and maintain compliance to government regulations pertaining to safe and compliant storage of hazardous materials, the existing storage racks in FLCY HAZMAT Center Building 4808 must immediately be replaced. As of 7 FEB 2022,installation of new racks is underway. Increasing compliant HAZMAT storage space for installation customers will help eliminate unauthorized storage of HAZMAT across the installation, further eliminating possible danger to human health and environmental mishaps. 2) To meet compliance with below instructions as it pertains to HAZMAT storage racks requirement for in-rack fire suppression system: a. UFC Uniformed Facilities Criteria 3-600-01 November 2016 HAZMAT shelving with in-rack sprinkler system requirements b. 29 CFR 1926.152 OSHA Flammable and Combustible Liquid Storage Regulations c.
