Full Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Battle Creek VA Medical Center 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, Michigan, 49037 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Interior Handrails - B.2, 8, 13, 14." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (CONSTRUCTION) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supplies, travel, etc. to perform all work under this project which consists of: Provide all services, labor, materials and equipment for "Interior Handrails - B2,8,13,14" at the VA Medical Center, Battle Creek, Michigan as described by the drawings and specifications. Work includes general construction and alterations work, as well as the necessary removal of existing structures, repair and painting of walls, and installation of new safety handrails. THIS PROJECT WILL INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO REMOVAL OF EXISTING SAFETY HANDRAILS, FOOTRAILS AND COVERINGS AS WELL AS INSTALLATION OF NEW SAFETY HANDRAILS, FOOTRAILS AND COVERINGS IN B2 (1515 LF), B8 (916 LF), B13 (253 LF), B14 (1656 LF), AS WELL AS PATCHING AND PAINTING AREAS AFFECTED BY THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING AND REPLACEMENT OF THE PROPOSED HANDRAILS. The period of performance is 120 calendar days for the entire project. Magnitude of construction is expected to be between $100,000 and $250,000.
